Carrie Wildes

Welcome to the Dever Family!

Hey everyone! Carrie here, we’ve been kind of quiet but we’re still here! It’s so awesome that we get to work with families in all stages or their adoption journey. We have one family that is fully funded and waiting to be matched and our new family you will meet here already has been matched and needs to raise $15,000 for their adoption day that will be coming up here very soon!! Sarah has been a dear friend of mine through the wedding industry and we had convos over the last several years about adoption and it makes me SO incredibly happy to see her, Alan, and Olha as a family of 3!! I actually got to do their very first family portrait session together:-) Here’s just a little bit about them…..

Sarah and Alan Dever met and married in the year of 2019. Alan, who is self-employed as a carpenter, had been a long time friend of Sarah’s brother, Jon, who lived in the same town as Alan in Maine. Sarah lived in Florida and worked as a counselor/minister to women at a college. While Alan seemed a little too “geographically undesirable,” he eventually won Sarah over and they married August of 2019. That first year was not without its challenges as they served together Sarah’s father in his final year of life.

Sarah and Alan had no children of their own as they both got married to each other late in life. Alan had 3 adult children from his previous marriage. They talked about having kids together but knew when they first started talking they wouldn’t have children biologically but were both very open to adoption should the Lord open that door.  In the fall of 2021, God saw fit to open that door.

Olha Joy was originally from the now devastated city of Mariupol, Ukraine. Her beginning years weren’t easy and she was brought to a Ukrainian orphanage at the young age of 6 upon the death of both parents. She still has an older sister, Vika, and an older brother, Serhii, who live in Eastern Europe. When Olha was 10, she was adopted by a Christian family in mid-coastal Maine. They already had two sons of their own, but no girls. They loved Olha, however, they soon realized they were unable to meet some of her needs emotionally. And they made the difficult decision to dissolve the adoption and search for a couple who could do for Olha what they could not.

Olha Joy was placed in the custody of Alan and Sarah on February 22, 2022. And she just couldn’t fit into this family any better. Same sense of humor, same crafty and creative makeup, they even look related. It’s uncanny how easily and seamlessly Olha fits into Sarah and Alan’s life down here in FL. She is a fun, active, playful, sassy, and sweet newly thirteen year old who is loving Florida living. She loves to swim, play with her friends, climb monkey bars and is excited to start school in the fall. She is already a regular helper in her church’s nursery! She’s quick to help you in need….but be careful, she’s also quick to prank you. Sarah and Alan love having her as an integral part of their family and they have already seen her blossoming in the three months she’s been in their lives. Her adoption day is scheduled for July 20th and the Olha Joy will be Olha Joy Dever…forever!! Will you help us be a part of their adoption story and donate to their goal of $15,000????

PLF Family Update on the Longs

With a home full of love and laughter, Evelyn and Zack Long are so grateful to have been blessed with their adopted children Carson, Stella, and Jackson, in addition to baby Judah. They began adopting over four years ago, and since then they've loved seeing their children initiate prayer, smiling until their adorable dimples show, and greeting dad when he comes home from work with excited hugs. Evelyn and Zack can't imagine their lives without their children- there's always something new and exciting going on!

The Longs credit the Promise Love foundation as a source of support through their adoption process, and encourage anyone who wishes to help families like them to go out and donate to the Promise Love foundation today, through Give Day Tampa Bay!

PLF Family Update the Pucovsky Family

When their youngest daughter was nine months old, Paul and Ivanka Pucovsky felt their hearts stir with the desire to adopt children into their family. Throughout the span of two years, the family struggled to adopt through birth moms, and finally decided to explore the foster care system. After attending a match meeting with the intention to adopt a younger child, they arrived home to discover a lovely teenage girl had expressed interest in joining their family. After discussing their next step, the Pucovsky family decided to go forward with the adoption, and since then they have discovered that adopting a teenager was one of the best decisions of their lives. Their family couldn’t be more thankful for the blessing of their adopted daughter, and they describe Promise Love Foundation as an instrumental part of their adoption process.

If you’d like to support families like the Pucovsky’s who have been lead to open their hearts and homes, make sure to contribute to the Promise Love Foundation on Give Day Tampa Bay, May 1st, in an online fundraising event. By supporting the Promise Love Foundation, you support the building of families and bonds that last forever.

PLF Family Update on the Boyers!

In October of 2015, Josh and Cricket Boyer partnered with us and opened their hearts to a new addition to their family: a sweet newborn girl named Breeja. Since then, Breeja has grown into a rambunctious, lovely little lady who loves bouncing around with her brothers and cuddling with her parents. Blaine and Braden adore their sweet sister, and Breeja loves her home with her loving parents and siblings to play with!

The Boyer family made us this adorable video in order to encourage everyone to give to families, like the Boyers, by supporting the Promise Love Foundation on Give Day Tampa Bay, an occasion in which over five hundred nonprofits will join together for a 24 hour online giving challenge on May 1st. If you enjoyed hearing about the Boyer family’s story and wish to contribute to families like them, make sure you mark your calendar for Give Day Tampa Bay on May 1st!

Welcome to the World Eliana Isabel

Mary Jo and Gil had a little surprise happen last week! On 9/15/17 little miss Eliana Isabel decided to come 8 weeks early.  She was a born at 3 lbs 4 oz and 16 inches long and is doing well and Mary Jo and Gil are officially parents!!  They got to meet her yesterday, here's a little video and photo of her.  They chose the name Eliana in December last year before they were matched and before they knew if their baby would be a boy or a girl.  It means, "My God Answers", and He did!  She will have to stay in the hospital in Panama City for a few weeks until she is 5 lbs.    If anyone has a contact of somewhere they could stay up there during that time, they would be so appreciative.  They still need about $22,000 to reach their adoption goal, so if you would like to be a part of their story donate HERE!!  We so appreciate your continued support and prayers for them.  Congratulations Mary Jo and Gil we are SO incredibly happy for your family of 3!!!

This event hosted by Michele Renee the Studio and Sarah Sukhram was amazing!  Sarah wanted to be in a fun class about makeup, Michele taught it and they raised $1000 for Mary Jo and Gil!  It was awesome!  We are so thankful and humbled by people like these 2 ladies who support what we do and spend their time giving back.   Michele Renee the Studio for hosting and Nothing Bundt Cakes for the sweet treats!  Photography by Carrie Wildes Photography

Mary Jo and Gil are Matched!

Guess what?  Mary Jo and Gil are officially matched with a birth mom!  She is due on November 29th with a little girl:-) We need you to keep up the prayers for them through this journey as well as donating to their adoption goal which they are $24,584 away from reaching.  Help them reach this goal by donating HERE!! Thank you all for your love and support it means so much to them and us!!

Update and Another BIG suprise for the Long Family!!

You may remember our Valentine's Day surprise where Carrie and I went to Zack and Evelyn Long's with a BIG check for the remaining balance of their adoption of little miss Stella!  Stella has been doing amazing as a part of their family, and the Long's finalized her adoption just a few weeks ago!  Here's a photo of everyone there to see them officially become a family of 4.

BUT.....that's not the end of their story!  Just a week or so after this finalization with Stella, they got a call out of the blue, asking if they would be willing to take Stella's 3 year old brother.  After much thought and prayer, they decided to accept placement of Carson just a couple of days ago. This means that Stella and her little brother will get to grow up together as a part of the Long family.
As you know, the cost of an adoption is not easy to come up with especially when it's unexpected, so we are asking for you all to walk alongside this amazing family and give as they have given their hearts to these beautiful kids so willingly!
They need $5000 to pay for this adoption that will not only keep these siblings together but also change their lives forever.  We are so honored to get to know this sweet forever family and are encouraged by all they are doing to help kids!  Let's get this done, come join us!  DONATE HERE!
